I realize that other people have written about this, but Elliott Smith's death is pretty sad. I admit that it took me a while to warm up to his work (I saw him once in '96 and wasn't that impressed), but I did eventually become a fan.

I feel like I did when they found Jeff Buckley: sad and pissed that another talent is gone.
